It is important for any webmaster to track the progress of their site in terms of visitors, click throughs and mapping their site properly.  Google has all the tools you need to implement these strategies, all you need now is to figure out what Joomla Google modules you need to make this happen.

There are 3 main Joomla Google areas you should be considering for your Joomla site.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics let's you keep track of how many visitors you get per day, where they have come from (direct link, referral link or search engines), what they searched for if they came by search engine, how long your visitors have stayed on your site and what pages they came in and left on.

I use the module from Dawson.be on my sites and find it very easy to use.

Google Sitemap

Google sitemap allows you to create a sitemap for the benefits of the search engines so that your pages get picked up quickly and are indexed by Google.  It is also useful, when you run your sitemap, to see that all your links are working and that every page flows the way it's supposed to.

I use JCrawler to create my Google sitemap.

Google Adsense

There are lots of Joomla modules for Google Adsense in the Joomla extensions directory, however I prefer to use a customised html box to track my Google Adsense figures as I find it easier to track the channels I have set up in Adsense.  Google Adsense channels allow you to track not only how much you are earning per site, but per Adsense ad box, if this is how you have set it up and it's very easy to do.

I use JHtml for Joomla 1.5 for Google Adsense
