The easiest way to install Google Analytics on Joomla is to install the module Google Analytics Tracking Module from http://snurl.com/5mnl2 and go to your extensions – install/uninstall option, shown below:

Then upload the Google Analytics zip file that you have just downloaded. Installation is just one click.

Go back into extensions, but this time click on modules.

Find the Google Analytics module and click on the title.

Make sure that the module position is either at debug or footer or whichever module position is nearest to the bottom of the page. Also make sure that the title is not showing but the module is enabled. The only other thing you need to do is put in your personal Google Analytics code, along with your site number as below.

Once you click on save, you should be able to go back into your Google Analytics account and check that it has been installed properly.
